Riders Meeting
Full Course

Short and Long Courses

  • The race is a timed event, Beginner short course is 60 minutes, other short course races are 90 minutes, and long course is 150 minutes. The checkered flag will be waved after the clock hits 0, your race is not over until you see the checkered flag
  • Please be at the Motocross starting line 30 minutes before your race starts if you want to participate in a sight lap of the motocross track. The sight lap is wheels on the ground, no jumping.
  • Once you complete the sight lap you will enter the starting line, you will need to find your starting wave. There will be signs on both sides of the sand drag with the class names for the wave, if you have questions about that please come to the base of the tower. It is the rider’s sole responsibility to make sure they are on the correct starting wave.
  • The start will be dead engine. You will start your bike and leave on the wave of a green flag. The start is located on the Sand drag next to the grassy hill
  • Pit lane is located on the concrete mx starting line, there will be painted sections on the ground that you can pit in, stay out of the center lane. Pit Lane is a 5 MPH speed limit
  • Laps are roughly … miles each. Plan your fuel accordingly. If you run out of fuel or your bike brakes, you have to leave it there, you can then bring fuel or parts back to fix it, no outside help is allowed, if a fellow racer helps that is allowed. This is sand out here people it eats fuel, play it safe rather than sorry when it comes to your pit stops
  • The check point is next to the tower in the motocross track. You will ride through the finish line overhang at 5MPH, you will then stop at the lap checkers for them to punch your tag, everyone is in a rush but the lap checkers go at the same speed for everyone, do not try to hurry them up, if you are rude to a lap checker your race will be over. Everyone’s tag should be on the left side of the handlebar
  • When you are on the Main MX track there are lights on every jump, if the light is flashing yellow or you see a yellow flag then it is wheels on the ground. It is wheels on the ground for the entire MX track while those lights are flashing or if you see a yellow flag.
  • If you see a Yellow flag out on the rest of the course it means a medic is attending to a downed rider, this yellow flag functions as a medic flag and you must go 5 mph until you pass the downed rider.
  • A rider may not short cut the track for any reason. Those numbers on everyones chest and back are not just for scoring, If you are caught you will receive a 1 lap penalty, if you are caught twice you are disqualified. This also goes for any toher infraction including high speeds in restricted area or jumping on yellow flag. A rider accidentally leaving the course (missing an arrow or crashing, etc) is permitted to return to the course where you left it.
  • Numbers must be visible on your chest and back, you can tape it, pint it, or zip tie it, whatever you deem fit as long as we can clearly read your number.
  • The course is marked with Pink arrows, pink flagging tape, and caution tape. Caution tape is used around all gates and around hazards. Do not pass when going through a gate. Wait until you are on the other side of the gate to make your pass.
  • Arrows indicate straights, and corners, how turned the arrow is a hint at how tight the corner is. A double arrow is an extremely sharp corner, An arrow facing down means either a jump or drop off.
  • The protest period will last for 30 minutes after race results are posted. Trophies will be handed out once the protest period is over. Results will be posted online later this week on Dirtridersmc.com and the NMA website.
